How to Practice

Funny thing about practicing, when you go to a pool hall and see guys that seem to be practicing, what are they actually doing? They are wasting their time watching balls roll around the table or watching the other guy shoot.

What really should be happening is these guys putting in condensed time shooting shot after shot after shot. Here's what you can do with your buddy instead of playing pool. One guy can caddy, meaning setting up shots that concentrate on a particular skill like safes (see our videos on safes) and the other guy can shoot it over and over about 50 times. What we say is that 50 shots of good concentrated practicing beats 300 shots of walking around the table and not concentrating on anything.

Remember, the main thing behind practice is condensing your time. We are all busy and don't have a lot of free time so making the most of practice time is really important. It's a numbers game, put in 200 shots of safes, another 200 shots of stop shots and so on. We guarantee your game will improve.
